Windows administrator password remover utility

There was a time when a client forgot his administrator password and he needs to install a new software for his business. I tried to use Ophcrack just to retrieve his password but with no avail. It seems that its algorithm/rainbow table is limited in free version and must pay for the additional feature.

So I asked my client if its okay for him not to retrieve his old password but just reset the administrator's password to blank. He answered yes then off I go and used Offline NT password & registry editor.

This great tool is derived from Linux and with its source code available from its website. I downloaded the ISO version and burn it to CD and did a cold boot after inserting Offline NT password & registry editor CD.

Resetting the user's password is easy enough you just need to follow the instructions then your done.

I tested this on windows XP and it worked great.
